My 10 best ideas for getting links to your website...

Top Tip:

1) Offer Something FREE, everyone likes to get something for free, so create a great web application or tool, and people will link to you.

2) Link to and say nice things about other related websites, sometimes they will spot your comments and link back. Maybe they will even quote you on their site and give you a link.

3) Create a contest, with a good prize, and ask for a link as part of the entry!

4) Write for someone else's blog, many bloggers are short for idea so help out in return for a link!


Top Tip:

5) Write reviews or popular or famous websites, this way you assosiate yourself with them and may appear in similar search results. People will also link to you as a good place to find out about the popular site.

6) Use social bookmark sites such as Del.icio.us, these sites let you keep online bookmarks that other people can see. Bookmark all your own sites!!

7) Create other websites! But ready built website software, install on a new server and promote both your sites while promoting each other!

8) Use Forums, make friends and form partnerships exchangeing links is a nightmare to organise to exchange partnerships instead where the payback is higher and the effort more likely to be worth it!

9) Write testimonials, say nice things about websites that you use, generally if they quote you they'll link you also.

10) Make sensible and worthwhile comments on blogs, most are moderated these days so your comment will only be published if you say something nice and say it well!!
