Default Writing and Short Stories

Top Tip:

I think that the best advice every given to me about writing was by one of my tutors. He suggested that reading and studying short stories by specialist short story writers gives a great insight into skillful, clever and absorbing story telling.

To convey a good story in few words is often harder than telling the same story at length, you need to focus on every sentence, what is the value of that sentence and how does it help the reader to understand what you are trying to say?

Its a concentration of all the basic requirements of a good story teller, clever use of language an absorbing angle on an interesting subject. I am now a HUGE fan of short stories and I try to read as many as I possibly can.
