Default Cycling - Offroad

Learnt this at the weekend

Top Tip:
When riding off road, lower your saddle. This will give you space to work with the lumps and bumps, and enable you to move your centre of gravity around to help keep good balance

It really helps! When you are perched up high you can feel really distant from whats going on. When you look at trials bikes they sometimes even remove the saddle altogether as they know they will always standing up on difficult terrain

Grow leeks. They rock.

Default Offroad Saftey

Of course, riding offroad brings similar hazards that any outdoor activity does - so dont forget the basic saftey tips

Top Tip:
Stock up with plenty of water and take a map that you can understand and read. As always, tell someone where you are going and roughly when you expect to be back. Take your mobile phone, along with all the kit you need for your bike - spare inner tube, a puncture patch and a bike tool (tyre tool and spanner/allen keys). Something to protect your eyes is useful and a helmet is a must! And keep warm with layers you can easily stuff in your rucksack if it gets too hot

Get out there and enjoy!

I love my bike, I like to stick to fairly safe routes though, too many bumps make my bum ache!
