Default Landscapes

Top Tip:

If you have the time to choose when you photograph a landscape, always try the morning. Morning skies are generally clearer and have less haze, firstly because the cool night makes the atmosphere "settle", and secondly because there is less traffic and activity at night.

The morning light is clean and crisp helping you pick out details and create a sharp image. Also long morning shadows can create interesting effects, as can the sunrise on the clouds.

...of course sunsets are also an amazing time to photograph landscapes but remember that you will have a much more full, hazy sky leading to less definition and sharpness but more colour.

A quick note about sunsets....

Top Tip:

Sunsets while stunning can often look very similar. Try to include some foreground of interest, a person, a branch or boat can add some scale and a location to an otherwise "normal" sunset.
