HI can anyone out there help me, my girlfriend was playing around on my computer and somehow she has managed to mess up the settings so that web pages appear on my screen sideways. I asked her what she pressed but she has no idea - anyone out there know what to do?

Hi, I have a solution for you but you may have to adapt it to your own set-up...
Many screens now come with a feature for rotating your screen, this is so you can use your screen vertically (for example when you are working on a Word document). Some screens come with a tilt mechanism so that you can easily rotate it, the screen will then realign itself to be in portrait instead of landscape mode. You need to find the control panel for your screen. This may be in the "Windows Control Panel" - mine uses a NVIDIA graphics card, so I have a NVIDIA control panel. You may also be able to access this by right clicking on your desktop. You then need to look for a "Rotate Display" option, in my NVIDIA panel it is under "Apperance". It is then a simple case of selecting the rotation that you require - in your case I guess that this will be none. I assume also that somewhere you have a keyboard shortcut set-up for this and this is what your girlfriend managed to activate to rotate 90 degrees. You just need to rotate it back. I hope that helps and sorry that this reply is so long after you posted - I just found your post now! Good luck! |
