Default Electricity bills - reduce them now!

Some tips for reducing your electricity bill... some obvious, some odd! Post if you have your own ideas...

Top Tip:
Turn out the lights when you leave the room!

Top Tip:
When boiling a kettle for making tea, coffee or soup only boil as much as you need, dont fill the whole kettle

Top Tip:
Dont leave televisions, DVD players or computers on standby, they can use as much as 30% of the energy that they do when operating

Top Tip:
Now that you can buy your energy from different suppliers, do some research into who is offering the best deals - dont be afraid to switch, your new company will be only too pleased to help set it up

Top Tip:
When you replace a light bulb, buy energy efficient. They cost about three times that of an ordinary bulb, but last 10 times as long while using 25% of the energy

Top Tip:
Only use your washing machine and tumble dryer when they are full. Also, in summer, dont use the tumble dryer, get it out on the line...drying for free!

Start now! Save the kilowatt!
