When you are taking money from a cash machine check to see if you have funds to withdraw. Banks slyly allow you to withdraw cash sometimes as it puts you into the red and they can charge you extra. The only way to avoid this is to ask for a balance first, they thay are not allowed to give you money.

It might be annoying not being able to withdraw a tenner, but thats not as annoying as the bank charging you £25 to do it when they have the facility to avoid doing so.
