Determining your Market
A new business will not be born without the correct finance in place, all setup and initial running costs must be firmly in place and meticulously planned, without this you are already fighting a loosing battle.
A large initial bugetary requirement is marketing, a new business - unless incorporated for a ready made market - will need to be marketed effectively and directly to the target audience.
Determining your target market is of vital importance, marketing aimed at the wrong audience is simply money down the drain as your return will be negligable:
| Top Tip: |
Ensure that you talk to as many potential customers as possible, those that you think will make up part of your target market *and* those who you think maybe less interested in your business, you may be surprised at just who will make up your customer base.
Get their views on all your products and/ or services.
Listen intently to every piece of information that you can gather, and try to read between the lines. If the feedback is negative on a particular product or service, then remember to make the result of your research postive! Don't be afraid to change, modify or scrap a product in favour of a better one, don't get too emotionally attached to your new idea or product.
