Vitamin suppliments are very popular nowadays, but they may not be as effective as you think...
Your body is incapable of storing most vitamins, that is, if you eat an Orange for example your body will naturally "use" all the Vitamin C that it needs at that moment and the rest will pass right through.
This means for example if you take a Vitamic C supplement, your body will only take what it needs at the time. Often the supplement will account for vastly more than the reccomended daily allowance (RDA) maybe upto 1000%, but your body needs 100% spread out over the entire day.
By taking a supplement your body may well only use 10 or 20% of the daily allowance, the amount that it needs at that particular moment. If you take 100% RDA in one dose 80% maybe rejected (as it cannot be stored) you end up with just 20% of the RDA!

Be aware if you take a Vitamin Supplement that accounts for more than the RDA, you may still end up deficient in that vitamin! Far better to eat natural sources of that vitamin throughout the entire day, have fruit juice in the morning, fresh fruit at lunch and as snacks.
