Default Interest Free Credit Card Inducements

If you have credit card debt always look out for new cards with the intrest free periods that they use as an inducement to entice you to use their new card.

Top Tip:

Simply apply for the new card, swap you debt to the new card, remember to cut up your old card so that you are not tempted to use it again. Now its important to cut up your new card so that you cannot increase your debt.

You now have the interest free period (I have seen up to 12 months!) in which you will pay no interest and your debt will decrease by the minimum payment which you must make.

At the end of the interest free period simply swap to a new card. Its relatively little work in exchange for an interest free loan.

Generally you will have to pay a transfer or handling fee to the new card company, but its relatively small compaired to the huge interest that you often pay on credit cards.

Top Tip:

Virgin Money and HSBC are both offering 12 months 0% interest!! (with 2% balance transfer fee)

If you take advange of both cards, reading this tip has just saved you 2 years worth of intrest payments on your credit card debt!!!

Congratulations!

Default Interest Free

Interest free balance transfers are a great idea for credit card debt consolidation but there are a couple of things to consider when applying.

Top Tip:

* Is there a transfer fee? Some credit card companies now charge you a % transfer fee. For example is the fee is 3% and you transfer $5000 (or pounds) you would a fee of $150 or pounds.
* What will the rate default to at the end of the transfer period? Seek out a low interest credit card so that if you haven't paid off the interest in full by the end of the transfer period the rate does not shoot through the roof.
