The first one of these I can remember was as simple as..
Never Eat Shredded Wheat When I was taught the points of a compass as a child, North East South West. 25 years later and I am still using them, I remembered one for maths from school... Silly Old Hitler Couldnt Advance His Troops Over Africa Last week I was doing lighting calculations without calculator or computer (a nightmare!!) where angles and distances of triangles are essential. The one above means: Sin = Opposite over Hypotenuese Consine = Adjacent over Hypotenuese Tan = Oppostite over Adjacent All of which are used in trigonometry to work out angles and distances in triangles I love the way the brain latches on to these things!! |

Haha - I remember this from school also, although we were taught:
Two Old Aunts, Cynthia And Harriet, Sitting On Horses. I even remember a silly conversation we had with our teacher; someone suggested that it would be more fun to remember if she had given us: Two Old Aunts, Cynthia And Harriet, Sucking On Hedgehogs! To this day I remember both, even though I do use it them often. In fact to be honest I find pointing my lights any which direction without resorting to trigonometry more agreeable! ![]() ___________________________________ Top Tips Forum - Friendly Help and Advice Technology, your Computer, the Environment, Money and Finance, Sports, Health and Fitness and Much More. |
