Thanks Aliana - some great tips! With reagrd to number 1 here are some more tips for saving water...
| Top Tip: |
1) Keep a rainwater bin, collect water from your roof and use it for your garden - you'll save gallons and gallons.
2) Place a household brick or similar item in the systern of your toliets, this will save a gallon or so a day depending on usage.
3) Turn off the tap when you brush (as aliana mentioned) also try shaving with a sink full of water and the plug in. Shaving can take 10 minutes and an awful lot of water is wasted in that time.
4) Only run your dishwasher or washing machine when they are full, this can save 1000 gallons a month, less cycles will also save you money as will buying a new efficient machine.
5) If you have ice left in a glass after a drink, don't waste it - place it around a plant!
6) Try brushing your teeth in the shower, instead of running the tap seperately.
7) Fix leaks and dripping taps!
8) Watering the garden can be relaxing and theraputic, and can go on a lot longer than you intended. Set a timer and then catch up on your time relaxing by enjoying your garden without the hosepipe!
9) If your toilet has two flush volumes use the small volume whenever possible.
10) Try to keep your showering time to a minimum.
