| Stock up with plenty of water and take a map that you can understand and read. As always, tell someone where you are going and roughly when you expect to be back. Take your mobile phone, along with all the kit you need for your bike - spare inner tube, a puncture patch and a bike tool (tyre tool and spanner/allen keys). Something to protect your eyes is useful and a helmet is a must! And keep warm with layers you can easily stuff in your rucksack if it gets too hot |
